Fancy Foam Mini kits

I have been working with a couple of friends and customers who have been scaling down some of my planes for the UMX guts. (extra, 4-site, vapor, ect..)
The Micro kits have been discontinued. Looks like there are not that many small UMX planes left out there.

The Mini kits are 23" span and are a little easier to get great performance out of. I have found a good little motor that give good power and flight time. The MX2 is the first one and is 65 grams with a 2s 240 battery. The FenixV2 will be ready shortly.

Thanks to those who have helped with these and there are more to come!

Those kits look AWESOME!!!

Do you have the average AUW for the MX-2 and Fenix V2?

Will they be able to support a brushless setup?

Will they be 3D?

Do you have specs?

Mine are ~32grams. I am using the stock UMX gear but I do not see why BL would not work. I do plan on investigating a good BL setup.
They do 3D and actually have the same feel of the larger planes. The stock setup flys similar to the UMX Extra. They have a little less wing area and so level flight is just a little faster but the roll rate is probably double that of the extra.
I have found that they are quite durable as I have flown and crashed mine without concern. They are easily repairable with welders like the larger EPP planes.
I also expect that some will get modded as will mine to try and further improve the performance.
In all I have had alot of fun flying them.
As for the micro Skycart, it also flys like the bigger version. Fun on the ground. ROG is easy as the front axle is dropped. Flys stable, hovers, torque rolls and wall hanging. Now I need to figure out what small character to draw on it. My friend that built the first one did Woodstock from the Peanuts cartoon. I was thinking of doing a mushroom or other Mario character.
I need to get ahold of the video from last weeking and this weekend I should get some more.

Thank you,

Why did you use 6mm EPP instead of 3mm EPP?

Will the MX-2 or Fenix V2 come painted or milled?

They all utilize 6mm EPP foam with carbon bracing and are roughly 50% of the original kit. The kits will contain the foam parts laser cut and pre-beveled, necessary carbon for bracing and pushrods, control horns.
First up are the following:
micro MX2 - AUW 32g.
micro Fenix V2 - AUW 32g.
micro skycart - AUW 30g.

I hope to have them on the site next week. I am just finishing up the kit details and instructions. Videos will be up soon as well.

Thanks to those who have helped with these and there are more to come!

If you made models for the v1 UMX beast gear, particularly 3D models which have the appropriate wing loading for the extra weight of the V1 beast gear I'm sure people, including myself would be interested.

AUW would definately need to be under 60 grams as AR6400BL built in ESC sucks at only 3 amps.
