Have 3D Sponsored Pilots been briefed yet?

In light of recent events, Im curious if sponsored 3D/Smack pilots have been given any new safety briefings or guidelines by their commertial sponsors to address safety issues and flying techniques that may cause potential injury? Has anything changed?

The pilots probably know more about it than the sponsors.

Any feedback from pilots or sponsored heli manufacturers? What lessons have we learnt if any?

From the lack of responses probably business as usual!

Bad for business to discuss accidents and prevention?

This is discussing if putting profits before safety in the hobby is prevailing..
More deaths will be inevitable I fear.

Well.... I doubt that any of the current manufacturers of whichever brand of RC-helicopters is having a mega-yacht under construction, I have thusfar also not yet seen a corporate jet flying the colours of Align, Mikado, SAB, or any other main brand....

So I think it is not really a matter of "profit over safety", but a matter of "profit or no profit"....

If you are a Japanese car manufacturer in the world-market, and you have a problem with the braking system of any model, you have a big problem, and the profit margins are such that it is wise to adress the problem, whatever the cost.

But if you are Mikado or Align, or SAB or whoever, what are you going to do?
Instruct your sponsored pilots? What is the effect in that?

I don't see the point in this discussion, and I think it is laying the responsibility where it should not be....

A typical example of the American "I WILL sue you"-culture, if you ask me...

Brgds, Bert

Ok, I'll bite. Sounds like you're looking for a typical corporate knee-jerk reaction? Have the risks changed at all? Suddenly you are uncomfortable due to one incident while ignoring those that came previous? Or maybe you just weren't able to perceive the risk before?? Do you think these guys were previously unaware?

Not so. What Im asking is have the corporate sponsors out there shown their pilots the required and responsible initiatives to increase safety margins in order to prevent 'further' accidents. Pretty straight forward stuff I would think.

What if the sponsors want to promote recklessness? Here is an "air battle" at an Align fun fly. If the heli was successful damaged by air pellets, it could well have ploughed into the crowd.

Align throws a good party, but they need more firepower.

There were several press releases and pilot instructions made very public by most of the major manufacturers after the accident.

The fact that you didn't see them means nothing.

And yes,it is business as usual with a little more awareness.

One person killed and hundreds of thousands not killed speaks to the inherent safety of the hobby as a whole.

Accidents happen and that one is NOT the last one.
Be careful. Don't be next. That's the ONLY thing we can do.
