I was just testing the epic style one, does a good job of either dropping the voltage or raising it 9v in 12v out, 14v in 12v out good for the Vtx.
That Castle bec is noisy as well, I put a ferrite ring on its output and it cured my jittery servos.

All swtiching ones will need a filters and castle is the good switching ones!

that sepic one he's got there will raise volts... like fly with 3s and even though it sags to whatever, it maintains 12v, like you need for a solid link on a vtx. bec lite only goes to 7 or 9 volts, forget. leaves a $50 ccbec pro that's noisier than hell or a $13 no computer telling it the voltage so is quieter switching bec. my links rock solid with it....... wasn't till i ran em, if you use fpv gear, you want those and the lc-filter... will run a 1 watt vtx and board cam all day long and you can bury them in the wing without thermal problems.

eh kloner, when u say those and the lc are you talking about the dpcav or whatever they are? I just got 2 of the regulators and the lc filters for whatever they end up in. Just didnt know if they need air or not. Perhaps a bench test is in order

that is them and yes you can bury it all..... mines been in there and flown in 118 degrees for 25 minutes and never had a hicup

Did you just laminate before installing the gears? Can you cut trough the lam later on and install your gears with no issues?

Hi, I have a question for anyone using a TBS battery bay. I read that the bay will fit up to nano-tech 3300mah batteries for 3s or 4s. Looking at the HK website I am seeing several 3300s and I am not sure which will fit.

Can anyone confirm the inside dimensions of the TBS ZII batt bay? I *think* the length must be 150mm - 3mm -3mm = 144mm and I read a post somewhere saying you need 10mm for batt wires. So is 134mm the max length batt that will fit?

I have first ones you posted, they are a nice snug fit with about 1/2 inch or more at the end for the balance plug and such. Theres enough room on top at the back of the bay for the battery leads and deans connection under the cover

Cool thanks! That is the batt that I had ordered. I am still confused tho, the HK dimensions must be incorrect. The ZII bay is 150mm minus 2x3mm for the TBS plywood. So there should only be 144mm to play with.

It is looking like my batteries are going to be the last things to arrive in the mail and I didn't want to have to wait for them to continue my build.

Hmm. I never looked at the dimension of the bay, on my new build ive made my own plywood base and put the batteries in the wing, made room for my rvosd.

The tbs batt bay is a very tight fit and it forces you to shorten your battery lead wires to about an inch. I really hated having to do that. It is a great product, but very restricting and not the most useful for the price. I think it's better to make your own plywood box for a fraction of the cost and place the batts in the wing.
