I have to post these two pics I took today of Eddy's MD500. He is a real trooper after totaling his Jet ranger yesterday. The elevator servo quit.

Wow! I'm almost on the same number, but with planes.
What size are they? 450?

Mil Mi-24 in scale 1:35

This is my model of a Mi-24 in the colors of Angola. First it flies with a Walkera CB180, later with a V200D02. In the moment I I build it on a five-blade with 2 x to brushless.

some really very nice models in this thread !!

Here's my humble offering
Dusted off my Mcpx with some fresh batteries and an ol' hughes 500 body kit
and really enjoying it
shame youtube only published it 240 pixels as the video shot was as at higher resolution
anyhow, here is the vid

Mcpx Hughes 500 01 (3 min 5 sec)

remember the good ol' Pico Z's ?
right at the beginning of the uber micro heli craze,
here's some I dressed up with some scratch built body kits.
The huey is made from foam and painted with some decals robbed from a plastic kit
the cobras were drawn out on a computer and printed onto paper and folded with a little foam reinforcement, they were great fun

Last picture is my MS Hornet as a Hughes 300 landing on a scratch built oil rig (with working lights)

I know, I know, I'm a cheese ball

one thing a scale heli needs is something scale-ish to land on

MD 500E for Nano CPX

Here is my little model of the MD 500E with a Nano CPX in scale 1:35. And it has the tail rotor on the rigth side.
With this kit you can also build the Hughes 500C and MD 500D.

Nicely done !!
very neat too what scale model kit did you use ?
did you do anything to lighten it and how does it fly, especially with the tail on the wrong side aerodynamically ?

would like to see some flying photos and vid
can't help but wonder if a 1/48 scale would fit the Nano too

I love all of these micro scale pics! And the landing sites (especially the oil rig) are a great idea!

Didn't those pico z's have an electromagnetic swashplate? I am working on some micro scale builds using 1:48 plastic models and the guts from Nano CPX & MCPX. I would like to get rid of the bulky servos, so am thinking of an electromagnetic swash.

Should we start a micro scale heli thread?

Great work! Cheers!

Matt

I have now built a Huey Hog and a Bell 47 using 1:48 scale plastic kits with all of the accessories attached. I used MCPX mechs and these things zip around just fine.

I am going to try Nano CPX mechs on my next build I think because they produce about 65g or so of thrust and that should be enough. Having the smaller mechs will allow more room for interior detail.

I think we should start a dedicated thread for micro scale helis!

Matt
