Here's the 411 - this F104 is designed by FN-RC, Freewing's official distributor and partner in Taiwan (Freewing is a China-based company). The plane will be manufactured by Freewing - but again, it is not a Freewing design and instead is designed by FN-RC here in Taiwan. It will be a 70mm EDF and will be offered in both kit and PNP forms - kit, 4S, 6S, and 6S+ (deluxe). The current 4S PNP weight without battery is 1.05KG.

Because this plane likely will be distributed in the U.S., the FN-RC contact has asked me to reach out to you guys to see which color schemes you prefer. So, please fire away with suggestions and pictures!

Kevin,
My only complaint about the video was that the fan sounded like a low blade count. Which is great for speed but I personally prefer to trade a bit of speed for sound. Will they have a high blade fan in the PNP?

As for scheme. I love the German camo scheme. But my memory of the 104 was when I was a young man in Italy and I was walking in a valley south of Parma and a pair of F-104s screamed by at low altitude. It was awesome. So, I'd love to see the Red Italian version.

And a classic to me is also the NASA version. Easy to do, looks good and visible.

Lastly, I always love a good tigermeet!

Thanks for posting.

I'd enjoy any color scheme which hasn't been done before in other F-104s from HET or BlitzRC. Something which isn't the same color on the bottom as it is on the top (same color top/bottom is bad for visibility). And something which doesn't have lots of black (not ideal for EPO foam).

I agree with Corsair Nut, an unpainted version would be nice. Or, primer white.

Awesome! I like the KLM scheme in the video

I think General Yeager would like to see this! That Chinese road is becoming like The Skunkworks....

I vote for the silver USAF version - as seen in the Right Stuff. Will it have a scale gear?

...in EPS would be a nice option.

I really like the NASA one, but I think a military version would be more popular for those who want to outfit it with weapons. The German ones with the orange stripes on the tips for vis would be a good choice.

I also like 479th USAF.

the "KLM scheme" (blue/white) likely has a 10-blade fan or similar - much better sound than the others in the video

I hope it will come with tiptanks (preferably detachable), I'd prefer USAF silver

great that this is taking shape, keep the details coming Kevin - thx

A video of this model, in white, was posted back in October 2014 -- what is keeping them !
I like the Blue /White scheme that we often see flown at TICO here in Florida.

Another vote for the German camo scheme with orange tanks. I liked that scheme so much that's how I did my profile pusher version.
