I can spec out a 60" wingspan using my dx6 and the ar6000, all these clone receivers drop off before that point, I only use the cheap clones in small park flyers that don't go out more than a 150 yards or so. About the best I got out of an orange was about 1000ft out and almost lost it as control dropped. In this case, you get what you pay for.

there's already plenty of oranges/clones vs. genuine threads, so no need to debate that here. Anyhow, I do tend to do the same and keep the $5 oranges on planes that aren't going out more than 1000ft. I do have a full range orange on a 79" sailplane that I normally go out 1500-2000ft and so far no issues at all.
