Not that I've seen, but who needs them when we have Doug's awesome retracts?

DW, feeling guilty for making that great looking cowl? You did an excellent job.

I'm glad that builders don't make too many modifications to the kit (Dreamer excluded) but I think that this is one of the great things about building a kit vs an arf - you get to make it your own.

NICE!

DW,

Nice cowl. You get an "A" for creative recycling.

Used a block of semi-pliable foam (don't know the name , it was scrap). Cut small blocks and covered with small pieces of scrap plywood from kit. Glued to both sides of fuse. Screwed cowl to these. Needed to have a 'soft' mount as back of cowl tapers in and I can squeeze foam to get cowl on. Cowl also hides the access hole to the screw that secures the motor to the motor mount.

Thanks DW. I'm going to give it a try on my SB.

Nice creative design DW. You've corrected the only thing I don't like about the SB. No offence Doug, just my personal preference is to have some sort of contoured shape up there. I have the same problem with the X-250, but I bought one anyway, still trying to come up with a good idea for that one.

Last weekend I totaled my Radical 540 and I am in a serious quandary as to whether I should replace it or get a SB-3D. DW's cowl idea may push it over the top in favor of the Switchback.
