I also prefer the Razorback version! I have the original TF kit for over 3 years now and haven't made any progressÖ just havenít had any times to build. I've been hoping that TF would release an ARF versionÖ so last night I pulled the trigger and placed an order after seeing it in Tower.

Love that bubble top. Great looking ARF. Great scheme.
My trigger finger keeps navigating back to tower for another look!

The only drawback is the retracts. Yes they are mechanical but that is not what really bothers me. The problem is that they retract towards each other, while real P-47 gear retracts aftwards at an angle. Everything else seems to be very scale. The kit has the same issue with the gear, and I've seen demonstrated mods to the wing but they did not look easy! It's a minor detail really, as long as they look good up and look good down.

Bravo Top-Flite - keep the ARFs coming.
Sea Fury next, or dare i dream: FW-190D??

UPS delivered mine in one piece yesterday. I finally got a chance to open it today and checked to make sure everything is there. I have to sayÖ it looks great! I canít wait to get start on assembling. Iím planning on using my Saito 100 as the power plant. Not sure about using the mechanical retractÖ I really would like to use pneumatic retract with RoboStrut , but donít know which (Century Jet or Robart). Iím looking for a drop in fit without any or very little modification to the frame. Does anyone have a recommendation???

Hey Hey! Nice photos!

It does indeed look very nice so far.

Let's take a look at these mechanical retracts and see how good they look before you start spending money.

What would be real interesting is the mechanical retracts on the upcoming new H9 Mustang. Direct drive mechanicals without all the wire and slop supposedly.
Question is can they be bought separately and then made to fit this plane?

Managed to check this Thunderbolt out at my LHS yesterday and I must say that unlike the AT-6, they actually did a decent job on covering this one. No wrinkles!! My AT-6 was a real mess (as were a number of others if you check the thread) and was so bad I actually had to recover parts of the plane, especially the control surfaces.

My vote is for TF to bring back the Zero as an ARF. Not many of these around and my recollection of the old red box version is that it was a great flyer.

Working on mine, a bit slowly due to time and waiting for parts. Wing servos are mounted and getting ready to attach the wing halves.

I went with a Thunder Tiger .91 four-stroke and now I'm a bit concerned about the performance. I've read elsewhere that most people are recommending at least a 110.

I'm only looking for scale flying capabilities--split-S and rolls. Can someone comment that has experience flying a 10.5 lb. warbird with a .91 four-stroke?
