Hey guys, what is the function of the canopy? I am wondering if having one will decrease the rate of the kit breaking an arm or tail In case if it goes thru a crash. Without a doubt it complement the kit. But the price is a price of a kit itself.

The canopy we sell, which was designed by Innerbreed has no purpose other than looking cool. It is made of 3D printed material from Shapeways and that's the reason why the cost is high.

It will not help in rigidity as it's about 1mm or less thick and the center section is mounted with two magnets.

Main flight modes, only one of the following can be active at any time

ANGLE - stable mode if the PID values are correctly adjusted and the gyro and the accelerometers have been calibrated and trimmed.
According to MultiWii developers ANGLE MODE is virtually obsolete, HORIZON MODE is preferable in most cases.
Uses: gyro and accelerometers.
HORIZON - A mixture between ACRO and ANGLE modes. Combining the stabilising effect with calm rc sticks and acrobatics with busy rc sticks.
ANGLE MODE mode when PITCH/ROLL sticks are centered. ACRO MODE mode when full PITCH or ROLL sticks are applied, allowing flips.
Uses: gyro and accelerometers.

My VTail flies ok but it still very twitchy. Thinking its vibrations getting to the FC causing the motors to go klepto, causes ALOT of jello even with the mobius on 2 types of foam sandwiched together. I've got the LPF_42hz filter set in the sketch but I've also heard the 98hz is the good, shouldn't I lower it tho?

Scad

So I am working on a school project and thought i would share my progress for those that find it interesting. Myself and a few others are working on controlling the vtail with a phone app. Using Multiwii as the FC software as well as a couple of arduinos and a raspberry pi we hope to bee flying by next week with the phone.

PH RTH problems

Tried the PH last night and it did well for about 20 to 30 seconds before it began to move backwards then slowly would pick up speed in that direction, despite my returning it to the initial hold spot. Then when I tried RTH it began doing circles, 2 or 3 then slowly rotated its way Hm then past Hm and continued to spin off in the distance till I took back control. Wondering if its just the GPS not as good, or do I need to adjust the PID's??
