test video hd fob cam

Well my hd keyfob cam arrived Friday. Today I took a short test video. The sky was overcast to broken. The temp was 18f and dropping. The wind was gysting to 35 mph. I shot thru two layers of glass pane. Used Video Pad Editor areal nice program. Can"t wait to put the cam in an airplane. The temp here yesterday was 60f and last week it was 20f and a foot of snow on the ground.Notice the detail of the tree branches and with low light level. I am very pleased with the cam.

Don,

It looks good. You need to try without all the going through the glass. The house across the street looks out of focus compared to the nearby tree and branches. Aren't these little HD cams amazing?

Yes... same one. I normally use the Sourceforge mirror for most all my editing tools, like Vdub, ffdshow, etc.

Tom,

I am going to download and install it.

Question on Windows 7 -- Have you tried using your flash drive for READY BOOST? I have 6GB ram but another 4 GB can't hurt.

No I haven't. I bought my W7 box right as W7 was about to go with formal release, and knowing I would be doing HD editing, I opted for 12GB of ram and 1TB of HD space!

Mine has 1 TB of HD space and 6 GB RAM. With the flash drive you can easily add 4GB provided the flash drive is fast enough. I believe the max is 32 GB that can be used. I set mine to 4 GB ready boost.

Tom,

I just downloade the Win32 version. I processed a video. It did open with a warning about handling 264 codecs and it said it would use something else to process it with a warning. That said, it's another great program with another learning curve. Too bad I have to back to work Monday and progress will be slowed to learn it. I save it with average quality and played in Windows Media Player although it said it might not play, it did.

Thanks for the good work in finding this great piece of software.

Slightly off subject but Norton, which I agree is bloated, is available free to all Comcast customers that use their internet service.

Tom,

For some reason Comcast offering Norton bloatware for free is no surprise.
