hey guys i just bought this stuff and i need to build something that flys well and can train someone to fly.it needs to be able to built (and be rebuilt) very fast and possiblly 4 channel it cannot use any mixing except possiblly elevon mixing. any suggestions would be great. thanks

the motor and gear is a bit heavier than what I originally used, but will work ok on an OSFloater. I had to put the battery right behind the firewall, but with that motor, it could go in the "cabin". http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1391606

how hard is your osglider to build? and fly?

Here is one made from 2 sheets of Dollar Tree foam board . It's SUPER EASY to make ( and re-make ) since it's just a few straight cuts , and can be a slow flying , self-righting trainer if built light and with some dihedral . And it protects your electronics if you do crash .

A number of people here on RCG have made one , including several first time builders/flyers . If you're interested , I can give you links to their builds ( including videos ) .

looks nice. But i would like it to have a airfoil(or some sort of positive lift) on it. I dont like thhe flat wing planes to much.

You can certainly put a KFm airfoil on it , I did on a 1/2 size SE I made , and so did Nightstone on a few he made . The basic SE is meant to be a quick , easy build .

The OSG is actually easier to build than the OSF. Simple box fuse, UC or KFM2 airfoil wing. I designed it as a thermal motorglider, (which it does well) but several guys have used it as a first trainer. It's a very gentle flyer on calm air.

is it 3channel or 4 channel?

OSG is designed to be 3ch (RET) but I suppose one could add ailerons pretty easily. If you really wanted them, then the OSF or a blue baby would be a better choice. Several guys have done 33" BluBabys in DTF and some have used ailerons. Typically one goes with a KFM2 wing when using ailerons, as it's easy to do a flat, no dihedral wing using the KFM2 airfoil. The important thing to remember is that a removable wing (rubberbanded on) is key. Then you can do either plain wing for 3ch or aileron wing for 4ch. I still swap them in and out. the UC wing is a nice float around, and works well when I use floats, while the KFM3(in the case of my 42" BB) with ailerons makes the plane quite acrobatic.

I just cut them from 1" foam from home depot. I think there are templates in the Blubaby thread.

ok cool thanks just one more quesion do you know of a simple little bit aerobatic plane? that uses the same electronics

Use a KFM2 aileron wing on a 33" BluBaby and it'll be about as aerobatic as one could want. (the nice thing about removeable wings, you can make the plane capable of serveral roles) But there are tons of planes that are purpose designed to be aerobatic. You should just search through the 600 planes thread for one you like.
