I have both T-45 and the Stinger. Both fly great, but have completely different characteristics.
I fly both on the same setup. 4S 2200 with a GWS 64mm fan and ERC 2445 motor. The T-45 is my go to fun plane when I want to have a relaxing flight with good aerobatic performance, or if it's really windy (the T-45 handles +15kmh winds no problem at all). The T-45 is great for practicing jet aerobatics because it is so forgiving. I use this aircraft to sharpen my flying skills if I haven't flown for a while. The Stinger is a lot smaller and faster (around 100mph). Consequently it gets very small, very quickly and is more of a handful on landing. Not your best bet for a first EDF. I luv both these jets for two completely different reasons but for a first EDF, the T-45 can't be beat. |

hate2,
the stock stinger is smaller than the t-45.... on 3 cells it tops out at about 85mph or so... because of it's small size it seems to be a lot faster than the t-45....the stinger is a lot more maneuverable than the t-45, i have never bothered to put a 4 cell in the stinger for 2 reasons, 1) it didn't need the boost in speed, i think it flies fine on 3 cells 2) i don't think the stock e.s.c. will handle the extra voltage of a 4 cell... |

Thanks for the HK stinger reviews guys...Yes it is a good deal smaller ten t-45,but i figured i could keep it closer and go slow untill i get used to it and gradually up the speed and the manuvers...and i have 4- 3s 1800 packs already i use in my trainers...t-45 is nice and a lot of guys says its the best starter...I also watched the dynam meteor 70mm video's as well as HK 70mm sport jet ,which is a clone of the meteor basically ...Anyone here like or flew those models... I think they are approx same size as t-45 and stock setup seems very good power...thanks

bench test
Did a bench test on my 64mm T45 EDF using stock 4500kv motor, cheap Hobbywing 60A ESC, Thunder power 3s 220mah 25C battery:
Half throttle for 2min Running current:23A 37deg c on ESC 34deg c on motor 52deg c on battery Draw 720mah from batt Full throttle for 2min Running current 18A 40deg c on ESC 32deg c on motor 46 deg c on battery Draw 555mah from battery Full throttle for 3min 40 sec Running current 23A 40deg c on ESC 33deg c on motor 62deg c on battery. |

2min full power show 18A While half power is 23A ... You need a WATTmeter ... and you should report both Voltage and Amps (each battery has a different way to push out power) 50% throttle numbers are not much usefull ... 50% for you is different then real 50% , and 50% for somebody else ... is radio and calibration specific ..Tchuss e_lm_70 |

sorry for my mistake. typo error. It should be half throttle 18A and full throttle 23A. I use a DC clamb meter to measure the current flow at the battery lead. Also for full throttle for 3min plus, i put back about 1200mah to the battery after charging. Thanks for pointing out my mistake.

My timer is set to around 4min ... and this consume more then 2400mAh ...so ... this means I consume over 30A at full power with full capacity in the battery. Maybe in some old post I already written my number ... or other did report their current and voltage I have no charge battery now ... so not going to test my T-45 now ... but maybe later. Tchuss e_lm_70 ps: Already the little T-45 50mm consume 18Amp at full power ... so ... your number sound suspicious ... |
