Cessna 206 StationAir by Park Scale Models

I had planned on keeping this under wraps for a while...at least until after the NEAT fair, but I'm lousy at keeping secrets. Here is the next kit that will be available from Park Scale Models. All that remains to be done at this point is make the assembly manual and have a couple of beta builds. I expect to have the assembly manual done by October, so kits ought to be available by November.

Here are some of the Specs:

Span: 37.75"
Length: 26.75"
Wing Area: ~210 sq.in.
AUW: 9oz. - 10oz.

Some key features are a vacuum formed cowl, laser cut front/rear windscreens and windows, single bolt wing hold down, battery hatch and a interchangeable landing gear system.

The interchangable landing gear system will allow you to change from no landing gear to fixed landing gear to floats in a matter of minutes without the need for any tools. It can also be set up with permanent fixed landing gear with a steerable nosewheel.

Currently I have set it up for just R/E/T, but I will be designing a aileron/flap wing for it in the near future. Also down the road I will make a option for retractable landing gear.

At this point I need to install the electronics and then she's ready to maiden. I hope to be able to maiden her this weekend.

Wow! Neat model. Just a note. The 206 has never had a retractable landing gear. It is only available as a fixed gear full scale airplane.

Wow!

Do the floats come with the kit or at least be available as an option? That would be perfect for summer holidays, and if the kit comes out on time I may just be able to have it ready in time! Any chance at having an option to build the plane with a two piece wing? This would make sneaking it along on the family vaction that much easier.

Floats will be available as an option. Sorry, but it's a single piece wing.

Count me in for one or two. I was thinking about ordering a set of smaller scale plans from Hostetler, but i will wait for your kit. Very nice work! Steerable nose gear would be nice.

The prototype is all ready minus the cowl and struts. The maiden will be this evening as long as the winds are light.

She flies!!! All that was needed was a couple of clicks of up trim and she was flying beautifully. Nice and smooth, very stable and predictable. I took some video so as soon as I get it uploaded and edited, I'll host it on my site.

Not to get too off topic, but do your kits include laser cut parts, or at least die cut? More specifically the Mooney 201 and the Pitts? Thanks!

Nice, very nice! I was reading the instruction manual and was really hoping I wouldn't have to hand cut those parts, and even more that they weren't die crushed although that is better than hand cutting. The Mooney 201 seems to be a very nice kit and am really looking into buying one. That is within my spending range. One question though, I don't have Lipo's and won't for a while due to lack of money for them and a new charger, would it me possible to use Nimh batteries? If so, what size would you recommend? Thank you very much and keep up with the good work with your kits!
