New Product
BirdsEyeView FireFLY6

Is it a Copter or is it a plane? Or is it both?

First of it's kind. It's a nice air frame with built-in retracts.

Could be very nice even without the Y6 installed in it and just as a pusher.

This is quite possibly the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. I want one just to fly, not even as an FPV platform..

Hey Rampage, It is a lot of fun to fly as a pure R/C model without FPV gear. It includes a regular nose cone and a payload insert to fill the spot for the belly GoPro. It's addicting transitioning to hover and then back to forward flight. In addition to our PowerPACK or one of your design, it just needs a Naza M-lite and a receiver/transmitter pair, BEC, and batteries for R/C mode only.

Sub'd! This thing looks awesome!

Is there enough prop clearance for conventional take off and landing?

Man I want to try one out! Looks like a blast. I guess finding a spot for a flight cam should be easy enough.

Thanks CSpaced! Yes, there's enough clearance for conventional takeoff, but we haven't tried it yet (VTOL is so fun, and our normal fields are all grass ... we'd like to try it for the first time on pavement).

So to clarify - do you need one or two controllers for this plane?

Hover controller required, forward flight controller optional.

A solid, relatively cheap way to enable the platform is the Naza M-Lite without GPS at $69. That's all you need when it comes to controllers, anything beyond that is a nice-to-have.

That's great, and such a versatile aircraft. We have a landing strip especially for electrics that would be perfect for this. I'm excited at the prospect of being able to take off and land in both configurations.

Thank you for welcoming me to the revolution!

I'm totally fascinated by this aircraft! I've wanted a machine like this for ages, but until now the only thing I've known of, is the Rotormast V-22. However, it has no retracts, no FPV capability, and it's $1700!

The coolest thing may be the retracts. There's nothing cooler at an airshow, than when the Harrier takes off in a hover and sucks the gear up!

I will be making my pre-order very soon.
