It's been forever since I've been to a full scale airshow. I really need to stop talking about it every year and go to one. Especially one with the Blue Angels.

Thanks! Two pieces of aluminium eye candy. The Merlin made classical music twisting those airscrews. I'm wondering how you talked Leccy into allowing you to fly as his wingman?

Don't you just love the howl that emanates from these old birds? Back in the 40's that was the sound of Run Nazi's Run!

That is a cool sound. I especially like hearing the sound of the wind whistling through the oil coolers on the Corsair.

Hear it at about 1:40 in this vid.

Here is exactly what you're asking for. Its not far and its going to be a great show. This years show is all about Naval Aviation. Six Corsairs confirmed so far. I'll be there.

I'm reading a book by Frank Tallman called "Flying The Old Planes" and in it he descibes going down to a naval scrapyard at Litchfield Park Arizona, probably back in the 50's-60's, and buying a Corsair from the smelter who was in charge of destroying them for the price of a steak dinner and the scrap value. They had 3 Corsairs to pick from, and he picked the best condition one.
