It looks like it is a low end model as everything mounts by screwing into thin plastic.

What size is it?

Could be a Graupner Key West cat, or a chinese rip-off.

Regards, Jan.

It is definitely no Systems and also not a Key West from Graupner.

It is similar to the Key West but a very bad copy.

Good eye Phat69, the MRP hulls are featherlight but still fairly sturdy, i had a 40" MRP Fountain and it was SO incredibly light.

Looks like it would be fun to mod with brushless power........................

That's what was thinking. I'm going to focus on the villain first though.

All abs hulls are feather-light.

Sturdy? Hmm, that depends on what you really expect from a sturdy hull.
No comparison with a glas-fibre or even carbon-fibre hull.

I also own a brushless-conversion Systems and i LOVE IT !

I have possibly been considered the Villain Guru here, I have modded 5 of them, three brushless single drives and two twin 700 brushed, i have achieved over 40 mph with the brushless versions.

I can be of assistance if you have any questions.

What are your plans for it?

Well, the MRP's are lighter, my 40" Fountain weighed less than my 31" Villain, both in bare form. Unless you have held one in person you wont quite know.

Well I've ordered what I hope is all the stock parts from ebay. From what I've read the Villain hull needs a bit more work at 30 mph plus. I want to go brushless twin motor for now. I like rooster tails

Can I get by with stock Villain EX props or will I need to go with the octura set up?
My boat is a Villain IV BTW.
It feels like I could crush the front of the fastcat with my hand so I will not be running it.

I dont recommend a twin drive brushless setup for the Villain, complete overkill and the driveline is not made for higher rpms. The stock drive is setup for exactly what it was designed for, brushed motors with a 2:1 reduction drive and large 47mm props. They are squirrelly at over 30 mph with the stock drives.

Pics of one of mine:

Nice boat. Is there a build thread so I can educate myself in boat building?
