Very nice looking plane. Maybe I'll hold off on the Seagull Nemesis now!

Looks too big for an Ef1. Defiantly over the max weight as well.

Certainly looks nice in the video! Too bad it isn't due out until February, 2011. Oh well anticipation is part of the fun even if I want it now! Mike H

Back from Ihobby today and saw this plane. It looks great. I asked John Redman what was with the power 32 on 5S and he said we are waaaaaay conservative on or motor specs and that Power 32 is fine with a 5S.

If thats the case, why stop at five, and go to 6. Punch a Power 32 on 6S into P-Calc with a 9x9 and see what you come up with.

I'm actually considering using a large HET inrunner for this plane. I've done a lot of experimenting with outrunners, and to really break the high-speed barrier with these planes
you need ridiculous RPMs and smaller props. I was thinking of the HET 700-60 935kv motor
on 6 cells with either a 9x9 or a 10x10E prop on it. The motor weighs about the same as an E-flite power 46 but is capable of 2,400 watts and 16 Lipo cells in series!

As far as the recommended specs go, the NPRA power 25 on 4 cells is not to impressive to me. It only makes the E-flite pogo go about 100 mph. I have smaller 3 cell planes that go faster than that. (Wold Models Mini Midget Mustang) I really like the power 32, but on 4 cells and a 10x10 prop, my Great Planes P-40 does maybe 100 -110mph. This plane needs to REALLY RIP!! For this size I want to see this thing do about 160mph minimum. I've seen Sundowner 50's built with E-flite power 60's on 6 cells and it only delivers about 130-140mph. Pretty boring to me.

As far as HET inrunners go, they're a fantastic motor for the price. My good friend Robert re-maidened his World Models Midget Mustang Mini today with a HET 2W-20 motor
and it was faster than I've seen any of these larger planes move. He runs his with a Blue Lipo 2650mah 4 cell 40c pack, and an APC 4.75x4.75 prop. This combo draws over 800 watts at 67 amps, so flight times are around 2 minutes. What he sacrificed in flight times, he gained in speed! This tiny 27" wingspan plane was moving at around 160-180mph at full throttle. I'm a total speed junkie and that's why I want to see these "racing planes" pushed harder.

If you want to stick with an outrunner, Scorpion motors are the best way to go.
Check out the Scorpion S-4020-8 790kv, it can handle 5 cells, and 1400 watts.

Here is a video of a Mini Midget Mustang with the same 4 cell setup as mentioned above.
This is where we got the idea of powering the midget mustang with an inrunner.

This plane running a Power 32 and 5s, gives about the same speed performance as the Pogo does with the Power 25 on 4s. Think you will struggle to hit 160 without some serious serious mods, you may even have to get upto 8s.
