thanks for the tip. this battery must be also used in other devices, it came with my miniDV camera (the same like 808 but in other body) which works fine with 2 wires of any 3.7cell too. I just soldered cables to contacts in camera and it works from LiPo cell. I'll check if I can recharge that battery from other charger through 2 cables

does voltage matter when recharging battery? I know that ma matters but don't know about voltage. I measured chargers and found that one designed for small batteries (it's written 200ma 6V) gives 8.4V, while 500ma gives 4.2V and another one gives 6.4V. if I have small 200mah battery is one with 200ha ok if it has 8.4V voltage?

Voltage is important. Open circuit voltage is not very useful. Use chargers specifically intended for the batteries you want to charge.

Thanks for the info. I did a search and found this thread because I was doing some testing and forgot to unplug a 3s. Lipo went totally dead and I though it was headed to the trash. Slightly puffy but still works.

What is the minimum voltage per cell for Nicads?

Hi guys, I should know this off the top of my head as I have been involved in this hobby for over 30 years, but as age creeps up on all of us, I can't remember for certainty. I think the voltage is 1.1V per cell for Nicads, can anyone confirm this?...

I have a Futaba transmitter battery that has a non servo type plug (circuit board two pin type) and I need to cycle it a few times but can't remember the minimum voltage for an 8 cell NiCad. I will have to use the transmitter voltage readout (digital one) and turn off the transmitter once that voltage is reached, then recharge and do it all over again as I can't find any place that would sell a male 2 pin connector of that type, seems most (read as no places) places are no longer stocking these types of items. I can't cycle by connecting it to my battery charger/cycler because of the plug type on the pack....

may you can google for the information and ask some expert for help. But actually the dead charge can not turn to life because it have no power inside. BTW,may be it is dangerous for you to save it because sometimes it will become bomb. Hope you can solve the problem ASAP.

hi. I was charging my 600mAh battery with 200mA charger designed for small batteries. I thought the lower the amperage the better but I guess I was wrong: it was charging whole day and finally some black crap got out of the battery. I measured voltage and it was 3.74V. Can anybody explain me what happened? I know that charging too fast is harmful for battery but why too slow caused that black thing to come out? or was it coninsidentally something else happened? that battery was ok and I was recharging it with 500mA and 350mA chargers and it gave me some flight time, not too good as battery was the cheapest possible ~2$ each.

A fully charged lipo is 4.1-4.2V.

Yours is 3.74V or about 30% charged.

This is the first report about "black crap" coming out of a battery. I have no idea what it could be unless the battery went into thermal runaway which would have released a lot of smoke and other possibly some black looking residue.

Charging at too low a rate is not a problem with lipo's. Many are charged at much lower rates then you were using.

I recharged couple of 250mAh small batteries with that charger. one is fine and another has a little hole where again a black crap coming out from. That charger is going to trash but I wish I could know what's wrong with it.

it's horizontal shaped with folding connectors (more compact then usual jst chargers. it has usb cable interface, the following is written on its bottom:

MP3 POWR SUPPLY
Model: KY-1008
Input: AC 110-250V 50/60Hz
AC 10mA
Output: DC 6.00V +- 5%
DC 200-330mA
