In the late 30's there was a newspaper comic called 'Hall of Fame of the Air.' (Maybe the PD would sell more copies if they ran it again.) It's now online at:

Some fun comics with names you'll recognize if you are into WWI and the Golden Age.

Davidterrell80 has created an index of 'Flight' magazine going back to 1909. If you are building a particular plane, it is now easy to see where it appears in the magazine and you'll likely find period photographs of the original. This is a wonderful resource for scale modellers.

Nice Link, keep them up!

For those that are smarter than me about these matters (meaning everyone), there is a Facebook group, the International Biplane Association. They have cool vintage pictures posted and some are Cleveland related. I did a little digging and found some very early Great Lakes,Travel Airs and Boeings. Great resource for obscure planes.

Thanks for that link. Interesting stuff. Facebook is actually becoming useful with special interest groups appearing more and more. The B-17 group posts many good photos and stories: https://www.facebook.com/groups/9261317727/ It already caused me to pick up a used book with some Amazon points.
