thanks... I didn't realize that this same thread was already discussed a year ago....the only drawback is is that a year later there still aren't any flying models.... there was one VF-1...but the links to the pics don't work anymore and the video is not that great (can't see how the plane looks too well).... Someone was making a YF-21 and it looked great but there was never a flight report or a video...

Maybe someone will actually get on this project and get a plane in the air this time now that we have the wonders of Depron

mmmm protoculture.....

hopefully I'll have a DXF drawing of the VF-19 soon to import into Turbo/AutoCAD... so we'll see what these geniuses come up with from there.... from what I've heard... when the model is plugged into Microsoft Flight Simulator with all the specs... it flys like a bat out of hell and exhibits some very nice characteristics

edit: actually...here it is

LOL.. I know you're serious... I am too... We just have to be patient...

BTW... have you done anything with the VF-19 file yet... it needs to be broken down into simple shapes....because it's hard to see a lot of the plane's shapes because the mesh is so detailed

The Sea Wasp thing looks fantastic!!!!!!!! Kind of f-18 meets eurofighter meets vial of crack ...

Why no Star Trek posts?

And of course, we need flying r/c tie fighters....

Speederbike, and ?

I built a profile depron speederbike based on a Star Wars toy. The black thing is just an idea I had. Both flew well with GWS-ips motors and 700mah Kokams

You know I'm a Star Trek fan but the shuttles have always been wimpy and kind of uninspirig, at least to me. They serve more as a dramatic device, they have a power failure and crash, putting the crew in jeopardy as part of the plot. Plus, they just don't look all that cool, box with wings! I think I like Star Trek more for the character interaction than the ship design, although nowadays on Enterprise the CGI makes for better animation than the old blue screen era of Next Generation.

Now Star Wars, there's some cool spacecraft to dream about! Not many could really be made flyable if done in 3D, but some could.

These latest posts have some cool looking fighters that seem more doable than some of the giant robots/planes.

One thing about depron is it only comes in thin sheets. That's a problem with big parts with compound curves. You can use bulkeads and stip plank, but I don't know if anyone has ever done strip planking with depron but I see no reason why you couldn't and planking is sometimes the only way with flat sheets to reproduce compound curves accurately. You could also use 2 or 4 inch thick sheets of blue foam for the compound curve parts. A mix of the two foams should work.

So when are you starting these builds Akura2? Get to work!
