I think there's some confusion creeping into this thread that perhaps the OP can clarify...
From posts #1 and #3, it sounds as though the OP's charger is terminating charge at 5000mAh of replaced capacity, prior to the battery attaining full charge. The OP indicated that he attempted to raise the capacity cutoff and disable it altogether, both of which yielded unsatisfactory results. If my interpretation of his description of the problem and attempted resolution is correct, the charger is likely faulty. Mark |

This is not first post for this very matter ... quite a few other threads have been written in past about the 6 range of chargers not giving out more than 50W ... But if it is capacity cut-off - then the B6 chargers appear to have a max cut-off of 5000mAh ... just checked my manual and is actually doesn't say what max is - but shows 5000 in diagrams. Can the OP please clarify ... Nigel |

Now ... I am a little confused.
If OP is trying to replace 5500 mAh into a 5500 mAh pack - then that is impossible if pack is still in useable condition. Why ? It would mean that OP had dragged pack down to ZERO discharging its entire capacity. No LiPo will tolerate that ... in fact near all rechargeable cells would give up on that. Hit zero and your charger will fail to resurrect that LiPo. Safe limit to discharge is about 80% or less ... so in fact OP should be looking to replace about 4400 mAh MAXIMUM to a 5500 mAh pack. That clears up the CAPACITY side ... If it's charge RATE - then as said - the 6 range of chargers only provide a maximum of 50W overall .... but 6's also have a maximum current rating of 5A ... 5000mA. Nigel |

Solentlife,
OP has a 5500mAh pack. conventional teaching says to set the charger to 5500mAh His charger only goes to 5000mAh He's wondering where/how to do this with his charger, not fully understanding about the specifications of his charger. OP, you need a better charger such as the B8. YOU CAN charge your 5500mAH pack even if your charger can only be set to 5000mah. It just means that you can't charge your pack at 1C or higher and it will take just a bit longer to reach max charge. Your charger's circuitry will not stop the charge at 5000mAH...it will stop the charge when it senses the voltage holds at 4.2v per cell |
