I am using a 12ch Dragonlink system... And Im out of channels :/

CH1: AIL1
CH2: ELE
CH3: THR
CH4: RUD
CH5: AIL2
CH6: FLP1
CH7: FLP2
CH8: NAV lights
CH9: Flight stabilizer control
CH10: main camera pan
CH11: Main Camera Tilt
CH12: Autopilot control

Still need:
HD cam pan
HD cam Tilt
Cam Stabilizer controls

So, yes, You would need more than 6 for Crow unless you "lock" your rudder.

What are you using for a transmitter? I'm looking to get a dragon link shortly but i'm using a DX8 at the moment and i don't think it's going to be sufficient

I use the TH9x with ER9x firmware... gives you tons of channels, mixes, reliable PPM, and way more capability than the fancy remotes If you want to spend a little extra, they have the actual ER9x motherboards for even more functionality!

So, basically (after a quick google), a sub $100 tx upgraded with free open source firmware lets out you output 12 channels via PPM to your dragon link....

Make room, commencing happy dance

Polix...
There are some people that have the TH9x and even upgrade gimbals and switches too! Its a great option, and the smarty board has backlight if you get that one

curiousity question- has anyone tried flaps down at something like 90 gegrees to act more like airbrakes? or 90 deg flaps up?
with my other electronics i'm all outa channels so crow etc is out of the equation, just looking at alternatives
reversable motor still intrigues me, but kinda... nervous... to try lol

Somoa Super Skysurfer Flight (11 min 41 sec)

The GoPro footage from my friends plane on the second flight where we actually stayed in formation for a minute is so awesome, I will post once he has it uploaded .

I also have a partial video from the maiden night flight! Didn't come out that well and the camera ran out of space shortly after take-off so video footage is crap but here is what there is :
First Ever Night Flight (Out of cam storage space quicky unfortuntely) (1 min 39 sec)

Yes. If your Tx has mixes available. The flaps are on a Y. My RadPro is set up this way, although I have to admit, I uploaded someone elses setup to my DX8. The only reason I can think of for splitting the flaps is if you want to mix flaps to follow ails for more turning authority. But I'm no expert. 6 is the minimum for crow.

I just noticed I answered the question for a 6 channel Rx not the DX6i specifically. I'm not sure about the 6i. I'm sure there's an answer in the RadPro forum. I'll try see if Google has anything.
