Ok, I started a "happenings" thread for the LA/OC area of So. Cal, and have gotten some flack for excluding San Diego, the Inland Empire, and various regions North of LA. Thinking about it, I think the criticism is deserved - many guys travel happily between all the various parts of So. Cal when there's good DLG fun to be had.

So here's a place to discuss Southern California DLG happenings. I vote to let the other threads die peacefully.

To start it off: Those of you that elected not to attend the December F3K contest at El Dorado park missed a great time. 10 pilots and really fun weather. I'm beat.

Ozone has a broken boom and the wing has some issues too. Haven't looked under the hood yet.

yes, and get the B3 flying. i have mine coming on tuesday and i will have it out at eldo this next weekend hopefully. get yours done too!

Actually, I finished the B3 last night. However, I don't think the battery took a charge properly, so I left it at home so I wouldn't be tempted to fly it. I'll definitely be flying it at ElDo next weekend.

Throwing the 10.25 oz. Vandal for 7 rounds really worn me out! I just can't picture how my arm would be after throwing 14 oz moldie for 27 rounds!
Today, I accomplished one of my 2010 new year's resolution: not missing any El Dorado DLG contests.
Thanks to Clay and Jerry for hosting contests, thanks to Gytis for repairing my wounded ships, thanks to Matt for advices on assembly, and thanks to all my timers for tutoring. I've had a great DLG year!

Thanks for the heads-up, Sean. I'll have to see how repairs go on the boom&pod before I go down the new wing road. Of course, a new boom and pod would solve that problem for sure (or even a one-piece fuse ), but I'll hold off on that solution - it would take me 6 mos to build at my recent pace...

Sweet! I am still working on mine. I just need to do the wing control rods and some odd ends and I am ready to go. How did you do the wing control rods? Are you happy with the results? I am still, thinking about ideas but I will likely end up using 0.070" carbon rods. I am still waiting on suitable pushrod housing. Post some pics.
