Suggestions on 3-wire servos for SuperCub

Well, after discovering the frequency is bad for the stock radio gear at my rc club, I will "upgrade" with the old 72Mhz radio equipment (minus the gyro of course) from my HBCP2 until I hop on 2.4Ghz (the cp2 is grounded due to an ongoing BL upgrade anyway).

This not only gives me more channels to play with (maybe ailerons in the future) and a near drop in solution (switch prop for lower current draw), but the opportunity to switch to decent 3-wire servos.

Which servo's should I use? I don't need anything crazy expensive but something that I can count on.

Dynams. I use them with good success. There are lots of vendors out there selling similar servos at similar prices that will work well for you. You can also find HS55s for around $10 at times.

HS55 servos are some of the best 9 gram micros out there. Bite the bullet and buy a bunch of them. You will love them for any of your park flyers.

I use the GWS Picos and Naros, then the Hitec 55's in the 6-9g servo range. Then the UnitedHobbies HXT500 for my cheaper parkflyers and combat planes. Butch

I put HS-55`s in mine. I just ordered some of these http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...?idProduct=662 I dont know if they are junk yet but I couldnt pass up the price. The reviews on their website are comparing them to HS-55s. I guess I`ll find out

I've heard complaints about the HS55s. Never heard a bad thing about the GWS pico and naros though.

well, it turns out my hbcp2 tx is the one without the dip switches to turn on ccpm...so I guess I will be getting a dx6i and a couple receivers this weekend (yay for the giveaway deal). must figure out which receivers I want to get though. I need one for the sc and one for my hbcp2 right away. I also plan on building a couple indoor foamies so I will want to get a receiver suitable for that too. if I pick the right two now, I will get two of the same for free.

I wouldn't go with HS-55's if I were you. I have heard WAY too many problems with them. Gears stripping while flying, noisy, twitchy, ect. I have and will always get the GWS Pico/Naros or Tower Pro SG90 servos for my parkflyers.

Those are what I used in my SC. I have four in the plane. No issues at all, but I certainly am not stressing them too much with all of this blazing speed.

I used four of the 9g TowerPros from Jeff at HeadsupRc. Drop right in the slots in the fuse and fit nicely in the wing as well.

$31 shipped for all 4.

Well, I picked up a dx7 off the sales forums for cheap so I now need to get a rx (probably an ar6200) , 20 amp brushed ESC (any recommendations?), and a set of servos maybe SG90's. On 3s lipo power, I assume I will need a bec (or one built into the esc) since the receiver max voltage is 9.6v and 3s is 11.1v. I guess the SC doesn't care about weight too much, so maybe using the receiver batt won't be an issue.

You can usually snag a Pixie 20A ESC off the forums for around $15. It will come with a BEC that is advertised as capable of running 3 servos but I run 4 with mine and haven't had any problems. You don't need an external Rx battery.

Like said above, you can get a Castle Creations Pixie 20 for around $15-$20 on the forums here. Also, if you make a wanted thread asking for SG90 servos, people will usually sell 4 for $20-$23. And same with the receiver. People usually sell them on the forums here for less than retail price.
