Help!
Speed: Viper 500 or Habu?? Pls help me decide!!

Fellas are there any among you you have both a GP Viper 500 and a PZ Habu?

I know this is the ducted fan forum and I was unsure where to post...but I was wondering what the opinions may be among them who may have both.

My Viper 500 is at home in the box, unopened, and I have a SuperTigre 45 I got off a buddy. Now I'm tuned into the Habu and can't decide between them.

I know it's an apples/oranges comparison (kinda?), but if anybody has both and you could only keep one, which one & why??

My plan is to get one or the other, but not both.

thx in advance for the help.

Jeff

I`d go with the Habu for sure. I don`t fly IC anymore so the Viper that I have, I plan to go with E power. But the Viper is just a racer in a tough class. It`s kind of a disposable type airframe. The Habu is much better quality.

That`s my opinion, but I`m an EDF freak so I may be a little bias.

Bob I began several weeks ago w/ a Stryker, liked it, got a Funjet, loved it...i believe I've done well with fast & quick electrics. I was all set on the Viper, then stumbled onto the Habu. I'm leaning Habu, but we're talking at least 2.5x the price.

So I guess the question is...is the Habu worth that much additional $$$.

Thanks Knife.

Now to be sure, I've not flown either...but the sense I get is that the Viper is very fast, turn left, very fast, turn left. I tend to fly aggressively and really jerk the sticks in steep dives, high-g pullouts, interved, hover when I can, etc etc. Not sure how wel the Viper does these things.

And as for top-end, am I correct that a 45-equipped Viper would smoke a stock Habu? I hear a well-tuned & propped Viper is in the 110-125mph range while the stock Habu (LG off) is in the 80-90mph range?

But maybe raw speed aint all there is to it and the Habu, for the much steeper price, simply offers more.

No??
