New Mini E3D from Gary Wright

FYI -

Many 3D pilots cut their first 3D teeth on Gary Wrights original E3D.....

Gary has just released a new version of the E3D at the SEFF Electric Event in Georgia this week.

It is called the Mini E3D and has some nice improvements, including but not limited to:

A removeable wing (Two piece wing with aluminum wing tube)

A new high wing postiion etc.

All-Up Flying Weight of 19-21 ounces.

I just finished building one of the early kits prior to release, and it is a wonderful 3D aircraft.

I have no affiliation with Gary Wright or GWMP, but I am merely a very happy owner of a number of his E3D's, Banchees and now the new Mini E3D.

Yes, Gary was selling the kit at SEFF this week.
It is not yet on his website, but if you contact him, you can place an order, as the kit is now in production.

Mini E 3D

Looks great Harley! BTW what size Hacker motor are you using and are you using Lipos? What size cells? Looks like a very nice plane and as usual I'll have to put it on my wish list.
Let us know how it flies. John Z

Oooh. I need one of those! Anybody want to pick up one for me at SEFF? I'll paypal someone the funds. I tried emailing GW without a response....

Looks great, Harley! I've got an extra A20 looking for a home. If it flies anything like its big brother, it'll be a blast!

Hi John,

Flys great. I have been flying this one for about a week now.
Very very nice flying plane. I will be putting a flight review into the
Build and Fly review, shortly.

I am using a Hacker A20-20L, 10 x 4.7 APC SF prop and a 2100mah TP Lipo, with a Hacker X20 Controller.

Harley I see your using a 1320 mah tp lipo. Gary told me he reccomends a 2100 tp 3 cell. I just got two and have seen him fly with them.

You want get enough power form the 1320 I dont think. I asked him about several packs and he said you need the power from the 2100 tp 3 cell to get the power for the mini to prefer good. Just a thought you might want to invest in.

I have flown the plane with both packs.
The 1320 actually works fine and the weight is of course lighter.
But you have to be extremely judicious with throttle managment as the
batteries can be pushed beyond their discharge capabilty.

The 2100 is a better match for the A20-20L motor but with the consequence
of a bit more weight. Power output is a bit better with the 2100mah pack as well.

Twu,
Pm gary. He has some kits im pertty sure of it.

Im almost done with mind I have some final sanding to do to unruff the glue marks and then im covering. Should start covering tuesday. I want tell you alot about it since it will be good if you wait and see the final product but I can tell you the theme. It is bees. Like a bumble bee. The colors are transparent yellow and black. Ill like it. I know I do. Ill get some pictures up of it when I start. I would tell anyone that this is a great kit. The instructions are great, laser cutting is some of the best ive ever seen, the plane it self is worth having. Im thinking of getting another one.
