Yes I was quite impressed with the Gilbert engines myself too. They do run pretty good. I like the dual exhaust and the cute dual mufflers for them too. They have that high performance racing look to them with the dual exhausts. Plus they can run forward or backwards depending on your need. Since they do use piston port induction, performance is somewhat limited compared to those engines using rotary valve setups that can be more asymmetrical in port timing. But the performance isn't all that bad.
I also have a Gilbert engine that was converted to spark ignition by Reginald, one of our forum members.
