I have the MiG, and it's a very smooth flyer with AS3X, which helps, because I have 74-year old reflexes that weren't very good fifty years ago. But I found it needed a lot of room, at least an acre, in order to fly comfortably. I assume the same applies to the UMX Habu.

Alas! I mangled my MiG on two botched launches, so it may never fly again. I hope I can transfer the hardware to a scratch-build, because the hardware is very good.

I am sorry to hear about that! I almost lost my MiG the outing prior when I dorked the front into the ground on a rough landing. Luckily I was able to finger it back to make it look like nothing had even happened.

echoing GBL's sympathies. fyi, when my mig got torn up by too many belly landings on my rocky field, i bought a chuck glider from rite aid and made it RC. mig parts worked well.

hearing the stories of these migs never flying again makes me sad! That edf is so much fun... I have it as well as the new Habu, and I love the mig so much more than the habu... The mig is a joy to fly, and rewards good piloting practices- plus ITS A MIG! lol

I really hope there are more of these scale/size EDFs coming- I dont think 2 is enough for me

unfortunately, no. it flew like a glider, slowly cruising around. wasn't very good at handling wind but i could keep it aloft in ~10 mph wind. the foam was pretty dense so its weight may also have contributed to her sluggish flying. then again, all i had was the DF unit sitting on top with no foam tubing to get the benefits of airflow manipulation. was still fun to fly around as long as you didn't expect much from her.

I hear you. Fun is fun even if it isn't fancy. I think back to the NES games from back in the day over the movies we play in now.
