-if you are a beginner and learning to hover on hard surfaces, then it's better if you leave those blue rubber cushion on the skids off. when the heli drifts sideway, they tend to grab the surface causing heli to tip over. if you fly on grass then no difference on or off.

-the red heli, if tail doesn't hold then you might have to rotate gyro 90 deg. I haven't seen a set up w/gyro facing sideway. not sure.

-you'll find the blue one to have tail slop, it's because of the plastic tail servo mounts. They dont provide a stiff platform and so when your servo respond to the gyro, it moves back and forth. Worst, it can break the plastic case on servo, like mine.

That's how all the cool people have their tail blades!

Wish I had 2 Trexes Matthew, then I could race them.

Those blue landing struts have been known to fracture. Mine did. Luckly ir had not flown. A stress fracture developed around the mounting hole. Beware. John

Actually, if you think about it some more, the rotational sensing axis is about a line which extends vertically about the gyros case. So, it really wouldn't matter on the orientation of the gyro's case-relative to the heli.

What does make a difference is the location of the gyro-relative to the heli's main mast. The farther away the gyro is located from that mast, the less sensitive it is to changes in yaw.
