48" Slow & Smooth Flying Trainer

Here is a 3ch trainer I built to teach my brother to fly RC. Made from DT foam and hot glue. Has a 48" wingspan and weighs 460g (16oz). Behaves very well. What you think?

Hello prelude, I like it. It's style and very predictable stable behavior are great, but I would prefer much less dihedral. I believe with a sport wing this would be a good model for my son and I. Even without one I'm still digging it.

She looks Funny! Why a V-Tail dihedral?

Cute plane! The super dihedral actually adds to the cuteness factor, kinda "tooney". A good flyer to boot!

The idea behind the huge dihedral was that as soon as you go hands off it will return very quickly to level flight, which is exactly what it does.

Here are some photos, the plane wasn't made to look pretty. It was made to fly well.

That's pretty cool, flys nice and the main wing kinda has a old timer look about it.

It appears to be a solid flying platform. Smooth flying, slows to a crawl. Quiet and very stable. Very nice indeed! Great job!

Now build another for yourself and make it FPV. With the pusher prop configuration this would be a perfect candidate for a small setup with a 1-3 gram camera and video Tx.

Fixed and flying again, as well as some paint to make it easier to see against an overcast sky and snow.

I just returned from a flight with an onboard camera (HB Wing Cam), it was a little gusty and snowing but the video turned out well. I will post it shortly. On another positive note, used only 524mah on a 16 minute flight.
