The nose drops because of the drag the ailerons produce. I would set the CG to the factory recommended position and leave it.

Hi have purchased one of these in purple from my local hobby shop.

Could somebody please post what the throws & expo should be for high/low rates recommended by precision aerobatics.

Did everybody use precision aerobatic settings or have people found better high/low throws & expo.

Also what's the best way of measuring the throw, I like the hanger 9 anglepro 4 in 1 but it's expensive, any good suggestions so my 1st maiden goes well.

The plane was built up & on display, I don't have the box or instruction manuel.

Does anybody use any mixes etc. I have put my ar8000 with satellite in there and will be using a dx8.

low rates ail 15-20deg up and down 30% expo
rud 25 deg 35% expo
elev 45 deg 30% expo

High Rates Ail 40-45 deg Up and down Expo 70 %
Rud 45 deg expo 70 %
elev 45 deg expo 70

I just use the supplied deflection gauge

What batteries are you using 2200 or 1800? I have flown an Addiction on 2200 but not on 1800.

You've got me fired up to bring my Addy out tomorrow morning. Agreed that the recommended CG is spot on. I can barely fit my 2200, and I think I'll try the 1800 tomorrow. I do not like to give up flight time on this bird, however, with the smaller battery..

I use TP ProLite 2100 25C batteries with great success. They're quite light. They're expensive, but well worth the $$ IMHO. They last and last.

My favorite battery right now is the Turnigy nano-tech 1800 mah 25-50C from Hobby King USA.
It will run for 9 1/2 minutes I set my timer for 8.
They will not puff up.
They are not expensive 1/2 the price of Thunder Power.
1800 is the perfect size for a balance between flight time and performance.

Those TP ProLite batteries are good, I had a little 1350 mah I used in the Addiction and it was super light.
It did get puffy after a while but still ran great.

I'm using the Castle Creations Phoenix 35 ESC which has been discontinued.
It works best on the 3.28 firmware version.

I have plenty of power with the thrust 20.

I like to run 55% expo on the high rate.

I have somewhat of a newbie question. This morning for the 3rd time my prop came off in flight. I have the CF spinner and I tightened the nut while holding back the collet with pliers. I have flown maybe 4 or 5 flights after doing this and off it came. Any suggestions?

Make sure the motor shaft and the hole in the collet are clean and free of oil. (use an solvent if need be)
Take a tiny bit of oil/grease (more like a smudge) and lightly lubricate the taper on the collet making sure none gets into the hole.
Refit your prop and go fly.... you should not have to use a pair of pliers to hold the collet, nip it up till the prop doesn't spin, then firmly hold the prop and give it the nut one last tweak.

Belly in hand catch, it gets a little tricky.

The only battery's I've flown in the addiction are the turnigy 2200 , nothing special , but seen as I'm not a crazy 3d pilot yet , they seem fine to me

That's so cool. I remember my first attempt at a hand catch, it was with the little addiction. Cowl popped right off in my hand! Scared the cr@p out of me!

I just finished my yellow addy, I was able to get 55 degrees throw for elevator, I didn't push the elevator all the way into the fuse, I slid it back about 1/4" in the fuse and glued it. I am using hitec hs5065 servos, thrust 20, quantum 30 esc, and a hyperion 35c 1800mah lipo. The hyperion fits great in the tray, lipo weighs 139 grams with deans connector.

Question about the prop, I plan on slow flying, would prefer more thrust over speed. I have an apc 11x5.5e, 11x3.8 slow fly and a xoar 11x6. I want to try the xoar first, it's 9 grams lighter than the apc 11x5.5e. I guess I'll start with a watt pull on the xoar and see what happens.
