Do you have a firmware preference? I have seen 3.27 show more power on the watt meter but about 20% difference on the csv readings. 4.22 is closer to the watt meter but power is reduced.

I will make the runs you asked for. I should be able to get the PJN, I don't have quick access to Falcon Beech as they are not carried locally. Maybe a Vess?

I will do a quick run with the 20x8 on the 216 kv with the 435 blend for your comparison. Would you like me to re send the unloaded data on this motor?

I always used v3.27 but I'm not worried about v4.22 either on the Motrolfly motors -- just never got around to trying it.

Any wood prop is good and if you can get data to compare the PJN to the Vess, that would be interesting.

Run it unloaded only if you want to, or if you are curious. I'm not sure it's necessary since I think I can calculate it now that I have comparable data.

I'm still waiting for the standoffs, and they may be lighter than the all up weight of 135g that I'm expecting, but the 78 should come in at 13 pounds, 3.5 ounces (6012g) with the Scorpion S-5535. If I can limit the power to 82A and 3650W, I should get everything I'm looking for:

276 Watts per pound
2:1 thrust to weight ratio
6 minute flight times
70 mph pitch speed
25 oz/sq ft Wing Loading
8.5 oz/cu ft Cube Loading

All on one of the best airframes I've ever flown. I may need the 22x10 to do this, and it would probable have the best feel, but if I need to drop to the 21x10 to get the 82A, I won't care all that much on this plane. The 21x10 has been on it a long time now and I expect the throttle response will be better, and torque-speed negatives will be less with it. Running the same prop up another 600 RPMs will make me very happy, especially if the motor holds up for four to five hundred flights.

I need to rebuild the 78's firewall when I get the standoffs and re-solder some connectors, but I'm hoping to have some data this weekend. We'll see how it goes.

Have there been good reports for v4.22 ? Power was still quite reduced vs a Jeti Mezon on my 8s 298kv 4330.

I'm also just about to run up a 12s 216 setup on a CC 120HV with Falcon 20x8 and 20x10 props. Happy to pass on data if it's useful.

I ran 4.22 on an Ice 75 turning a Motrolfly 3615-750 and it felt substantially down on power. I didn't get the chance to put it on a watt meter to prove that out though. The plane died on the 4th flight
But I have another coming tomorrow and will get the chance to test it again in about a week or so.

I'm using 4.22 in an ICE2 120 HV. I also used it in an Edge 120 HV. Motor is a Hacker A60 6XS running on 6s lipos.

I've kept this ICE2/Hacker combination updated with the latest firmware updates over the last 18 months. I can't say I have seen any improvement with any of the updates. Nothing has gotten worse, but power is still down from what I would expect. With a Xoar 21x10 prop I should be getting around 2200W, instead I am getting around 1900W.

I've given up on Castle when used with 28 pole motors, at least Hacker motors. Jeti Master Mezon works better for me.

All the results I've posted here with the DM4330, A60-7S and A60-8S on 10 and 12S setups with the 20x8, 21x8, 21x10, and 22x8, were with the Ice2 120HV on v3.27. We're talking about 2600W with the 10S to 3100W with the 12S and 20.5 to 21.7 pounds of thrust to go along with the 3100W, depending on the prop.

MO is that the 4.22 and Edge HV are an attempt by the manufacturer to cut the top end off the power curve to keep from high torque-speed over-Amping, and I've seen nothing yet on the Ice2 and Edge HV log data to change my mind. My Master Mezon 95 seems to do just as well, as long as I change the programming to the minimum 0.5 seconds acceleration setting, and to 28 or 14 pole, with the correct motor.

I was disappointed with the 6XS on 6S and sold the motor as fast as I bought it.

I replaced my 6XS with a 4330-400. I have all the parts to refurb mine, but no real motivation. I like the idea of the single 6s battery, just not the power on anything over 10 pounds.
