Help!
Take a guess at these composite weights!

I have a few yards of Kevlar and carbon fiber laying around and it was so long ago I purchased it I forgot what it is.

I ordered a DLG Supergee 2 short kit, and would like to know if the material I have will be sufficient for a DLG.

I would like to make a full carbon wing, but I'm afraid the fabric will be too heavy.
On the other hand it's a starting point. Minimal weight isn't a priority.

So, take a guess at what weight (oz/yard) you think these might be.

Thanks in advance.

SuperGees must be very light to fly well. These fabrics are not usable unfortunately, as both appear to be 5oz or better.

Thank you for the insight Tom. I feared that may be the case although I've never handled anything in the 1oz/yard before, as Rick pointed out.

NP. If you want some 1.7oz kevlar for the wing skins, I'd gladly share some. I buy it in large quantities and could find some off cuts that would likely be large enough for a wing. You can also splice together pieces pretty easily.

Awesome Tom, that would be great. If you could calculate the cost for a few yards and shipping to 54901 that would be awesome.

Just send me your address in PM. The off cuts are basically free to me... so they're free to you.
