Graupner out of business?

I have a heard a rumour in my local hobby shop that Graupner have gone bust. Has anyone else heard this rumour elsewhere?

Their website is still up. They have a Facebook page too with the latest status update being from December 20th.

Hold it, friends!

Graupner has some "historic" troubles commercially and has sought protection under something like your "chapter 11". These procedures are relatively new in Germany and they are meant to avoid blunt bankrupcy.

I hope they stay/remain in business. Great products without a doubt!

Nothing wrong with Tower, the comment was mostly made in jest. However, the Graupner line being turned into a bunch of Chinese made ARFs is pretty depressing. I think most glider guys have seen a Graupner or MPX kit before, but those that haven't just don't understand the difference in quality, design and engineering.

I don't care how good the quality is or isn't, I will not knowingly buy from people that steal other people's ideas/work.

You gotta follow the line of the thread... for it to make sense:

I will not knowingly buy from a company that copies Graupners' specs.

Where is the mention of stealing Graupners products? If a company were to buy Graupner they would be free to do as they wish. Buying cannot be stealing.
