I've been playing with ArduplaneNG on the HK board, but I'm pretty new to this stuff and can't figure out where I'm going wrong. I've got yaw and the baro working, but can't get GPS to show my home position in APM Planner or the other sensors working.
The board goes really well with MultiWii 2.1, but I bought it for waypoint flight. Anyone else trying to use Arduplane or Arducopter? |

Alrighty... I think the official thread has gone firmly down the MultiWii path, which works well but I bought this for waypoint nav, so I'll try here.
The sensors on this board (aside from the GPS) are the same as the AllInOne IMU and the BlackVortex. ArduplaneNG allows this board to be selected, but comes up with this error: 'GYRO_ADDR was not declared in this scope'. *fixed* Anyone have any ideas? If MegaPirateNG works with BlackVortex, would I be able to pinch anything from those files to fix this? EDIT: I'm having fun getting the all sensors working at once. Using APNG2x R5 I can get the GPS and accelerometers working, but playing with APNG 2.4 (which seems less specialised for the Crius AIO Pro) I can get everything working but the GPS. With the APNG 2.4 scripts it also won't connect to APM Planner. |

Nope. Haven't had time to play any more either. Hobbyking haven't been too quick about getting more in stock, which I think needs to happen so more than just a hack (me) is trying to get it going with APNG.
For now get the Crius, but I reckon this is a much better board and will whip the Crius when MPNG and APNG are ported properly. |

Keep at it. There are folks who follow the "leader" to see what happens and use the lessons learned. Aka - guinea pig. I have both AIO Pro and the HK Mega but despite the initial hiccups I am getting to like this board - the potential for adding more ports and using servo type connectors is a BIG plus. With MWC 2.1, this board can do anything the AIO can and with the option for adding more IC2 and Serial connectors looks like a very good candidate for MPNG. I do not understand why HK has not re-stocked this board already given so many are asking when stocks will arrive.

I'll be picking one up when they're restocked. For now, I'm configuring CodeLite for AVR projects and getting comfortable with avr-gcc and AVR Libc. Java is nice but it's a pig for development (this coming from an Eclipse and Android emulator user).
I'm still hacking make files in a Linux VM as I strive to build a usable, updated Canadian compiler...because, well, I'm Canadian . I have a few Atmel 328Ps here but no 2560s. I was going to order the Arduino 2560 Mega from HK but it's a rev 1, not 3, board. Ah well, we'll see.Keep at it. |

There's some files under the Files Tab in the HobbyKing Product page... you can start there. You gonna need to download the MultiWii software. It includes the actual code and the interface to change the setting. Another alternate GUI is mw-wingui. It seems to be a better interface for changing setting. I don't know what version comes with the board, but you'll need the Arduino software to upload the MultiWii code (or MegaPirateNG code) to the board if its not on the latest 2.1. After that, its the MultiWii interface to change setting.... Good Luck! |

TheFernMan, Thank you for this reply. Yes, how to make it work in general. It's not exactly copy paste type deal. I know I can understand these things, just needs a bit of warming up. So the arduino software then... |
