2X6 EP with 85" wing

2X6 stretched the wing to 85" and added 22-15 KDA 1300 mA battery. So I can fly the 2X6 on the days the high start is too difficult for me. I like the slow flying 2X6, it's the only plane I have that I can hand catch.

Hey Dave,

Like your plane. What is your AUW on that bird? Did you just proportionally stretch the 2x6 wing to 85"?

I stretched the center section to 36" adding two more ribs, longer spars and using new TE pieces cut from a 1/16 x 3. Then let the tip material run out before adding the tips. I do not have a scale to weigh with but feels about the same as the one I use with the high start. The CG came out on the spar with the F2 former removed and a 1300 LiPo; a little triangle stock added should keep the bottom and sides together. Spirit Elete stretched and EP coming soon. Dave

If it has an 85" wing, isn't it now a 2x7?
It looks good, and it is a proven design.

Had the 2x6 that is now a 2x7+ out to the field and it did very well. I would like to have one more square inch of rudder but 1"+ of throw does work. Elevator is set at 3/8" and is very responsive. Caught one very nice thermal and then caught the plane in my hand. Dave
