[RCSE] TNT

Yeah, the Icons were our and doing OK. But in the Sunday flyoff for
first/second place, it was McCarthy's molded whatever against Jay Schultz'
Falcon 880!

Both Jay and Jim are fantastic pilots, McCarthy was flying a Tragi 705X.

Jay's Falcon was so heavily flown and worn, someone asked him when he was
going to step up to a molded model. He replied, "when someone gives me
one". Later that day, Tom "TK" Kallevang gave him a molded Emerald to
replace it.

I thought that was a cool story to hear.

TK is buying votes!!??? I'll take an Ava. Actually, TK gets my vote
anyways. But I am curious as to why he gave a plane to someone that was
already kicking butt with an older model.

RE: [RCSE] TNT

Probably to make Jay's day... they are good friends and that's just the
way TK is. He isn't flying Emeralds much anymore (he was/is a big Emerald
fan), hates to see a good model not getting flown, and he currently has
more ICON's than I do.

TK set me up with my first unlimited model, I wasn't quite ready for it but
he practically gave it to me. A real sweet Thermal Eagle, I have to laugh,
it really scared me back then. But he was pushing me in the right direction.

TK and Jimbo have some very good friends down in Texas, I want to go to the
TnT next year. Sounds like a good time to me. They kept calling me all
weekend at all hours telling me so... 8-)

Re: [RCSE] TNT

David,
The short answer is because that is the way he is. Tommy has been a long
time friend of mine, he helps any one who needs a hand, is great at calling air,
and just one of my many buddies from SOAR. I look forward to many more
outing's with TK. He also adds a calming effect when Jimbo McCarthy is in the room.
My best to you all, Larry

And another good thing about TNT - it's the same weekend as the OU-Texas
football game. Lots of hot air generated for thermals. Much weeping and gnashing
(usually by Texans). The new field is great and Miss Ellie's Deli (on site)
makes a fine box lunch.

Those boys even got an outhouse!

<It's hard to believe but the TNT is next weekend. I'll be there as the only
one from OKC, but I'm bringing my Tulsa homies to bring some Texas wood
home. See everyone there! gv>

And for those of us Tulsans who never seem to quite make it to the top, there's always Miss Ellie's Deli!

C'mon down to Dallas - DLG Fri AM, RES Fri PM, then two days of UNL.

Great field, great pilots, great eats, great time.

See y'all at Southfork.
