I have a hobbyzone Super Cub. One of my favorite park flyers. I Havent been flying for a long time, but I can usually fly with no issues. Today tho, the Oklahoma Wind picked up right after take off. When I started to lose control I flipped the A.C.T on. Im not sure but i think This added to the problem. I paniced which Im sure played a roll in the outcome. here is the video from the on board 808 Keychain Camera. Thank God I wrote my name & Number on the plane!!

Yea, As you can see when I turned it on it went out of control.It is a toss up because without it, Im sure it would have crashed.

Never heard of ACT? What kind of transmitter do you use? I am pretty much Hitech or Spectrum and I don't recall anything about ACT, but maybe I missed it.

Pat , its the DSM package. Comes with a spektrum 2.4 radio

ACT is well-known for causing more problems than it solves. It's mostly seen as a marketing ploy that just doesn't work the way it's intended to. Some have called it "Automatic Crash Technology".

You're better off permanently disabling it by clipping the sensor wires or putting black tape over the sensors themselves.

It's focus is crash avoidance.
Let go of the sticks and let it work.
After it returns your plane to level flight, you can do as you wish.

It's a simple "look up, look down" device.
If your plane is in a wingover, or flat spin, you are outta luck

HZSC was my first RC plane so I remember the ACT ploy well.

It is designed to cut the engine power based on which sensor sees light or dark but does not work on cloudy days and realistically just make the plane harder to fly even as a noob because of the constant cutting in and out of the power.

Within a couple of flights I had cut all the ACT wires and removed the sensors and never looked back.

Do you have to add sensors to the plane? I am not familiar with it. I have seen the FMA autopilot in action--but that was several years ago. I have a Spectrum 6 I think and don't recall seeing anything about ACT.

It is already built in. One sensor on the cockpit one on the underside of the fuse. You can turn it off or on.

I never used mine. But in this case it worked well.
