When will people start fpv racing planes

I have been doing a lot of 250 quad flying lately it's fun but I've always preferred flying planes. I built a few small delta pushers that can go way faster and turn almost as fast as the drone. I use a cc3d in rate or axis lock so I can have massive throw and not be to twitchy
I've been wondering why there is no one racing planes fpv it's way cheaper and probably easier to learn I build mine from foam board with paint stick spars

I'm trying to upload my more successful planes the tapered wing plane was the most agile and used a 4000 kv trex450 motor

both those are 20 I would never buy this style of plane when they finally found a hard object I was able to pick up the electronics and throw them in my bag without any foam attached.
they are very fast . it took about 2.5 hours to make one

MultiGP already has classes for race wings which can include the likes of the popwing.
We did a 5 up popwing race at our recent Colo FPV event which was a blast.

However, the biggest problems with wing racing are
1. They're faster, and the courses need to be larger. Often just isn't the space to set up a course.
2. Very rarely are standard gates large enough to get a wing through so have to use trees and big pylons. Trees aren't always available. Pylons are pretty boring and can be hard to see from above, at speed.
3. Harder to judge if people are really rounding every pylon as the wings tend to fly pretty high
4. Biggest barrier to more widespread wing racing is that they're really loud. We've had multi-GP miniquad racing events in all types of little school fields and parks, often surrounded by neighborhoods and never had any noise complaints, but just *one* race wing is louder than 5 quads in the air. 4-5 wings are deafening. A day of that would will definitely get you banned from a neighborhood park forever. In fact most outright bans on RC in various municipalities date all the way back to the days of nitro, and noise was the primary reason. Where we've had success in re-gaining access to parks where it was previously banned, it's because of the adoption of relatively quiet electric aircraft. A pusher wing at full throttle for 3 minutes is almost as loud as a nitro plane.

Pylon racing airplanes go way over 100 MPH and take lots of airspace. They are more dangerous because of the weight and speed.

The think what makes quad racing so popular is because a large course is required and those small racing quads are almost indestructible. A 200 MPH airplanes hitting the turf is going to end up in a thousand peace.

Very bad idea I have run that camera a lot it will involve you ripping of the googles and searching the sky for your plane we only use that for $15 micro quads now its actually only 10mw 100ft safe range tons of jellow

for a good setup you can fly more that once use the $15 turnigy 250mw 5v vtx and a micro cmos . I own that vtx it is every bit as good as the boscam 600 mw it replaced and I found I had clearer video with it since its not attempting to send audio along side the video.

What I just said is based on real life testing and if you do put that cam on that plane you will regret it fast

Wait till EagleTree vector releases virtual Airgate for planes soon, i think i did saw another thread showing concept of this feature in flight controller without needing physical airgate/pylons. Can't wait to site behind Reno style P-51D Mustang.

This is the closest thing i have air racing among friends.

I built a Colorado Race Spec Popwing and really like it. NEFPV has something similar going at their field.
