Struggling to decide between iCharger 106B+ and 206B. Please help.

Hi,

I am very new to anything RC and would like to buy my son a setup for his birthday. I have been researching chargers and power supplies for a few days now and feel I'm not making any headway.

I have settled on the Redcat Tornado car and going to be possibly getting Turnigy 4000mah - 5000mah LiPo's .

The charger I have been looking at is the iCharger 106B+ / 206B and the power supply the Junsi P350 .

If anyone can let me know if the 206B is worth the extra expense or will the 106B do the job adequately or if their are any other suggestions that may bring the cost down a bit.

Many thanks

Definitely the 206B as it'll allow you to charge twice as fast as the 106B+. If you're looking to save a little $, the Reaktor 300W from HobbyKing is an excellent value. It's a private label version of the 206B, has the same features, and the same firmware.

The Junsi P350 is the perfect mate for any of these chargers.

Thanks a lot. Had the 206B sitting in a cart so glad to learn of the cheaper option before I bit the bullet.

Yup the Reaktor is a 206b wearing a different label for 1/2 the bucks.I've got one and it works great, the DUO is two in one box for the same price as a single 206b.First time they were in stock they sold out in a day.As Mark said the P350 is a great match, but this is similar spec for further savings and it also works great we've used it for club members and it gets pushed hard.

There's a 12v version as well but the Reaktor/206b is good for 24volts.

12 volt cheaper still, but the charger will do better on 24volts.

Well you can't win em all,but there's nothing wrong with a 106b even if you paid more,it's a great charger I have one as well and it will serve you great. After using the cheap Imax B6 50 watt chargers you will see they are more accurate in what they do and last longer.

Keep it and get the Reaktor too. It's always nice to have a second charger. That way you can charge different cell counts at the same time.
