Sounds like the perfect candidate for a turbine conversion.

So I ripped out the balsa below the fan and thrust still way down. So I don't get it. Something is wrong somewhere.

I designed it for turbine for the start then they were banned everywhere around me. I can't stand electric. I only do it because I have to now.

Bummer

Same thing around here, all grass....sucks
Actually found out yesterday I lost my dead end street flying site. Was right around the corner, between the house and work. They put Jersey barriers up blocking off the street, and put up no trespassing signs. Guess the jackaxxs were tearing it up with 4x4s, so everyone looses.
Now have to drive an hour to fly anything, and its only grass

I reset all the settings on the ESC(YEP programming can be a PITA) and got the 17 lbs back with all ducting out and hatches off. Best I can get with the hatches on is 13. With doors open it goes to 15 but can't fly it like that because the doors hang too low. 15 lbs is not enough for a 25lb plane anyway. 17 was marginal to begin with off a bumpy grass runway.

Tailpipe is 105mm. Not worth making another one because even a lb of thrust won't help me.

Plane on 15 degree decline to remove friction then metal rod hooked around nosegear to rear of plane hooked to fish scale. Get 17 lbs with open hatches. 13 with hatches.

this thing was a beast. you have way more power than this had. running a 12s turbax setup. and this was not a clean airframe like your 100 lol. grantedi wasnt on grass but the takeoff roll was short!

The inside of the fuse where the speed brake is all sealed off. Even with the doors open I don't get back to 17lbs so I don't think having the air brake open 1/2" will do all that much. Needs a huge cheater hole.
