Thx Boomer,
Waterline needs some straightening but can't much see if I stay further from land ..lol ![]() Notice the slight deviation of the rudder in last pic..Not sure how else to fix but to give it a small bend the other way... Also plan to put some heat shrink tubing on any sharp bits at ss turnbuckles etc |

Boomer - I will definitely look for that product. Need to clean up a bit...
But like I said - Time to go sailing!!! I'm sure its been posted before but looking for best ways to get rig and boat transported to the water? I need to travel a bit to were I would like to sail. For now I will throw in back of my suv after de-rigging and protect best I can but.. in future.... Should I make/get a bag for boat and some sort of case for sails? How do others deal with this? Comments invited..

Transport carrying box and stand - all in one
One of the coolest RC Boat carrying devises was created by a Roger Sköld. While this particular devise was made for a Seawind, I am sure with very little if any modification, it would work just fine for your Vela.
For complete planes go to this link: http://www.seawindrc.com/default.asp?url=links Let me know what you think. If I had an SUV, I wouldn't need to demast my boats. I'd just fold down the rear seats and lay it on it's side - with a pillow under the mast to support it. I have an Acura TL - so I have to remove the mast. I lay the bottom of the mast and the booms fully assembled on the luggage tray and support the remaining section of the mast with a bungee cord suspended across the back seat hooking each end of the cord on the grab handles mounted inside the car. Those things you'd hang your coat on. Works great. Depending on which boat I am transporting will determine if I remove the keel and rudder. Generally, I don't have to. Anyway, thought you'd like the carrying box idea. Boomer |

That's a pretty cool box Boomer...but I doubt a Yamaha would fit.
For sail protection most of use use a homemade cardboard sail protector for our boats...I've used my cardboard and duct tape protector for 4 years now and it's still in great shape. Here are some of the ones we have showing up at the pond ...
