Cellpro 10xp doesn't full charge my lipo

Hello, I have some 1000mah 3s lipos and I usually charge at 1A (that is equals to 1C) at my Cellpro 10xp with success.

Some days ago I tried to make a 'slow charge' at this battery at 0.5A (that is equals to 0.5C), but when battery cells goes to 3.9v the charge said 'Lipo Bal Done'. I tried to start charger again, but with less than 1 minute it's said 'Lipo Ban Done' again with same 3.9 per cell. Then I need to change to 1A and then I got full charge (4.22v per cell).

Does it's a charger error or I can't charge a lipo battery with less than 1C?

Today I tried to char my batteries at Lipo Auto 1C (I have made this some times ago) and it's show "Lipo Bal Done" when my batteries was ~76% charged (according Cellpro 10xp). So I change to Lipo Bal @ 1A and I got full charge.

I'm using a 24v/30a power supply.

Follow some photos of today Lipo Auto 1C:

I have a similar issue. I suppose there is a bug in the product. I just opened a case to the support. Did you had any answer on this issue?

They said they will make some tests about 2 weeks ago and no answer about this problem yet.

Good Day,

I ran tests all day today and could not duplicate your problem. I charged 1 pack and 2 packs at a time with a manual .5 charge rate. I used presets 1 and 2, still no problem fully charging 1000ma packs. Would it be possible to send your charger and packs in for testing? Thanks.

Howard, I had the same issue with a charger I own from some years and an other just received by Revolectrix. I never had this issue before and I suspect is due to the new power supply. But it's strange that the same issue happen to an other guy. May be related to the power supply voltage?

Thanks.

Alessandro

Hi,

I will run some more tests today duplicating his power supply specifications to see if that may be the case, I will keep you posted.

Hi,

I was able to find the bug today. The problem happens using 24 volts for the input voltage to the charger. I will pass this on to our design engineer.

Good you found the problem.

Really I'm using a 24v/30a PSU.

Waiting your solution.

Best regards, Jair Junior

I have informed our design engineer of the bug. Ultimately a firmware change will be made available to correct this. I will keep you posted.

I talked to our design engineer this weekend and he said the problem is occurring because the cell count of the pack or packs you are charging, namely 6S = 25.2 volts is close to the same of the output of your power supply. He recommends either raising the charge current or trying a different input voltage for the charger. He is going to take a look and see what he might be able to do on the charger side.

jairbj charging 2 x 3S pack = 6S
alexvan charging 1 x 6S pack

Hi friend, I don't have another charger but I bought your charger because after lot of search I heard your charger is one of the best of the world.

Before I buy this charger I sent an email to revolectrix asking if I could use this PSU (24v/30a) and the answer comed positive with no restrictions.

I have confidence you can solve this problem at the charger side.

I'm waiting your updates.

Best regards, Jair Junior.
