FlyFly 90mm EDF Kits - Need Advice

Hello all, what are your thoughts on the FlyFly 90mm EDF kits? Are they quality kits that build and fly well? What are your thoughts on bungee launching a 90mm EDF? Is there a FlyFly model that might better suit bungee launching?

I would like to step up to a 90mm for my next project. I really don't have local access to a paved runway so I hand launch or bungee launch my 64mm and 70mm edf's and would need to do the same with the 90mm. Am I better off holding out until I find a better runway and stick to my smaller edf's?

Thanks for the advice!

This should be in the foamy EDF forum.

Fly Fly are not very good quality, but they typically fly well with their thick airfoils and are light. As long as you pick keep it from getting too heavy you will likely be able to hand launch no problem.

I'm building a FlyFly Hawker hunter for hand launch. I'm installing a 70mm Midi Wemo fan to keep the weight down....and close off the cheater hole. It will be very light with a 3300mAh 6S.

FlyFly models generally need some beefing up in strength but thanks to their light wing loading fly well even with considerable changes.
Pick a design that catches your eye and find a thread in the foamy section to consider some changes.
Fun to build, if you don't mind building.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. The F4 Phantom has always been a favorite of mine but was not sure how a 90mm would bungee launch.

Saving weight by not adding retracts might help, something to think about.

It will bungee launch so easy. I'm sure you could hand launch it.
