Yup, looks even more mosquito-like high up, flies fine, you can see it a little farther away.

I sourced the carbon here:

How heavy did it make it?

Finally received my MQX!.....but still waiting for my Hyperions to arrive. In the meanwhile, I had some spare time so I took out my art stuff and designed me a new canopy! Just could not settle with the design of the stock canopy and was not willing to foot $20 for the MIA ones...

Hope to replace the white blades with the orange ones in future when they come in stock. Looking forward to maiden flight soon.

Primary goal was to ensure that I knew head from tail!

I had 2 flights tonight and on the second flight my mqx started losing power at 3mins and I increased throttle to compensate. When I did that, the front right boom dropped and it veered sideways. Suddenly it was ok again. I measured the temperatures of the motors with my duratrax temp probe after 4 minutes.

Front left - 70f
Front right - 79f
Rear left - 77f
Rear right - 70

I think the gear might be too heavy for the mqx, I will definitely be watching out for this though.

Looks boring! I like to fly with just enough help to do so in winds

The range can't be that great since it's wifi.

Longer booms on the MQX?

"How heavy did it make it?"

Stock tubes are 3mm with an ~ 1mm round hole.

They are stronger (presumed) and heavier per unit length than the Hollow Square Tube. [3mm (.118") OD x 2mm (.079") ID x 1 meter (39.37") Length. Weight 7g.]

Adding 100mm to each boom added ~ 3gms.(.4 meter x 7grm. + added wire)

But, I also rewired and removed connectors (soldered to board/motor leads),
so this removed the weight of 8 connectors/shrink wrap and the 4 Motor Mount Covers(BLH7562) - [1grm x 4]

No overall weight change from stock, I wanted it this way so I could properly evaluate the possible change in flight profile.

Then what is the fun of the heli. You aren't totally controlling it.

The motor mount covers hold the motors in place. A couple times during a crash landing the covers slide back and the motors were pushed upwards which lead to the gears coming out of sink with the propellers.

It's just another facet of the hobby, the fun is building the system and getting it to do things for you, a great accomplishment.
