I don't think I can bring myself to seal the fuse. I just know I'll need to tweak the wiring electronics from time to time and if I have to cut it open to get to some of the wiring is likely going to be a problem. I read in another thread about how some people are taping the fuse together. Does this sound like the way to go for assembly?

I have both sealed and open fuses and I like the open the best. You can add tape, zip ties, or a combo of both without an issue.

What kind of setup are you using to fly that far out?

Too windy for me yesterday. I did help a friend try out a bungee launcher using his Bixler look alike. We actually got it to launch without the pvc ramp with about 10 lb of tension on the tubing. Pulled it out and up real fast.

I would like to go through the entire thread to find out some details for the Bixler I´m thinking to buy / build.
Just as a quick question.... What motor / prop suggest me for FPV purposes...
I will go with a Co-pilot (because Ialready have it) for stabilization.

I'm flying the PNP brushless Sky Surfer from RMRC at 33oz AUW with 3s 2200 lipo and basic FPV gear. Simple voltage OSD, 300mw 1280 tx and 540 OSD camera on the pan tilt pod. APC 6x4 prop. I get 15 mins of mixed throttle flying and it has plenty of power even at my altitude. I am also using a Dynam GY48 gyro on roll.

You gotta help me.. I am using the same Gyro (first time user) and wonder how this actual works.. when I tried this weekend, the plane banked always hard to one side and almost killed it... I have it on the rudder ...

Any reason you have it on the rudder vs roll channel? Sounds like you might have had it in heading hold mode. I have gain control setup on the gear channel and used the ATV to set two positions for the switch. One position is nearly no gain, so the gyro is not actively inputting anything and a second position which gives me about 30% gain in RATE mode (red light will be off). Very important to be able to kill it in flight if something is wrong. Mine did great helping keep the wings level in gusty cross winds.

Ok I guess it was in holding mode which makes sense.. I have it on a switch, too - so how do you switch it to Rate mode?
