Do those HK blades really work for you ,because I think that they are #@*^. I found them far to thin and could not get them to lift anything.

Chris the reason I'm so keen on the HK head and blades they are cheap and available off the shelf (most times) at the hotel we need parts like this for the fleet as we don't have the time to make replacements and I would like to have Autogyros on the fleet permanently and cost is a big consideration
All the heads and blades have worked on all the models I have them fitted to
I bought 5 sets of blades and they did not have the angle on the roots like the original and did not notice until after a few flights the head was reluctant to spin up but when they did the C30 went vertical after a hand launch and I had a problem getting it down the lift was very strong
I think I need to experiment with different shims on the blade roots

Just got back from the RC Hotel Corfu unfortunately I was too busy teaching for the first two weeks and only had the last few days to experiment with the helicopter Autogyro but did not have any success
So I altered the HK std blades and made them wider I used a piece of 1/16th x 3in balsa sheet
I striped the covering then glued the balsa to the bottom then cut off half the overlap and glued that to the top of the new balsa then sanded it to the profile recovered and balanced them

They seem to work really well. I guess it doesn't take much effort to reshape them once you have added the new trailing edge?

Very little work shaping but the covering was a pain I only had some Red tape but the improved performance was worth it going to do all my HK blades this way

Very nice job Joe, I like the fact the blades are not long enough to strike the rudder!! But still give you plenty of authority in the handling.

Back in Scotland and have built a Mk 3 with a std head using pull pull linkage and with the ability to fit two servos to give pitch and roll the video is with one servo on roll only
Also fitted the wider blades what a difference

You've done a good job with that conversion Joe and I can see that is a nice stable model to fly. I have also found that wider blades make all the difference..
