Well maybe 20 mm would be fine. Got my titanium M4x10 button heads today. .63 g each ;(
Looking at Jr 188 servo location. What to do? With screw tabs on they barely fit crosswise. They Seem so tall?

Random build pics. While I wait for my China battery to arrive or make a mockup and decide best servo layout and cg location. I have a couple possible servo trays curing. 1 is two layers 1/16" birch on bias with some carboweave in the middle. Another of 1/16" ply with carboweave top and bottom.

Well my Stella Build is complete. 126 g on a +/- 1 g scale without battery. taping a nickle 5.02g on the nose puts the CG at 65 and 132g.
I hope my battery is lighter than 5 g. I might need to shorten the servo leads if I need a CG closer to 70.

IT was a fun build and I desire my china 200 mHr battery to arrive soon.
How much doe they weight exactly? hope like 4.5 g ?

Nick tells me some Guys in China have built them under 120 g? I do build tough. But I am learning how to keep things light.

Try the stella version1 today before the sunset, I really like this little monster, not a full power launch, easily reach 50 and near 2min in calm air.

This is a 4 servo rudder plane for a customer with 4*65k servo(rich man~), comes out with heavy nose that I need 1.5g tails weight(never has tails weight before...) it runs really really fast. I added lots of camber, near 5-7mm to make it float slowly, as my previous beta MiniDF is modify all-moving stab, it seems this one is much stable, 44cm LE-LE, with CG 65mm. I think I would like it on 68-70mm, but I don't have enough time to trim it more backward. fun fly plane and I still managed to find some smooth thermals beside the trees. Wonderful day with the Stella!

Well I finally got my Stella out in good air. This is not a TOY!!
Got a 4, 5 and 6 min. It was calm with thermals. Cg at 69 mm 133 grams. First madien a few weeks ago but it was overcast, cool and windy. This little plane sees any bump and if there is much wind its a handful. I took it out one other windy sunny day but the cg was at 65. But today was perfect. Warning put on sunscreen before tossing this because you won't want to stop. Good thing I did stop after that 6 min flight as my 200 mHr bat just took 150 . seems like I can fly for about 25 mins. I had spare batts. So about this toy. It looks like a silly toy. It fits in the car so easy. Not much chance of hangar rash. But if someone thinks its a toy their jaw will drop when you turn a 360 and it soars like a rocket to 140+. No btoa in it. But it might be 150'. Then it circles so tight. I mean virgin tight. In thermals I was pulling lots of flap. I had about 4 mm camber in thermal mode but it ate up tons more. I see Nick used 7? What are the best settings?

I forgot to say this Stella can range out and fast. It won't penetrate much being so light. But it must cruise as fast as my concept 2

I'm using max to 7, only I managed to control it well without tip stall, mostly with 4-5 I think.
