Wow I have flown in soft 10mph winds OK.....My set up would not fly well in 20mph winds!!!

All I can tell you is the wind sock was sticking straight out and my buddy was flying it. He has been doing this for 60 years and said he had to fly it every second. Buck

Flew mine for the first time today. Got it up a little rudder and sat down and had sandwich and took a nap!! What a fun thing to fly! Eight Turkey Vultures came over and checked it out. Buck

Hi guys,

I have flown my EPP eagle OK with a motor, now i would like to try slope flying and therefore drop the engine, esc, etc...

How do you set up the EPP eagle for slow flying and how do you manage the CG while staying light ? Which lipo ?

Thank you

It would be the same bird basically but you would have to just keep the correct CG.
Weigh your battery now, then weigh the motor and ESC and combine the theoretical weight to maintain a flyable CG. But the actual weight could/should be less as you could move the battery & Rx more forward if your build allows.

I've thought about sloping mine but I'd just remove the battery and prop, and put some tape over the motor to keep dirt out on landing. Then rebalance to get the CG right. Then it's a simple conversion back to power.

I have tried sloping and found that with the v-tail I could not get large enough control throws to be able to control it. Also not having it set up with ailerons doesn't help.

Thx guys.

What typical battery should I go for in the absence of motor for an easy CG for sloping ?

3S1500ma ?

Possibly, but as you might know, whatever the lightest you could use to maintain a proper CG with it pushed as forward to make the adjustments.
I fly my powered Eagle with a 1300-3s for 10minutes or 2200 for 20minutes
