Question
HELP Sport Cub s FPV problems

I am trying FPV for the very first time and I bought the components for DIY.

List of components that I bought:
1. Range Video Tx5802m 5v
2. Rc832 from range video
3. Surveilzone 600tvl camera
4. Pololu 3.3v step down regulator
5. Quanum V2

I soldered the TX,camera and it worked perfectly directly with a 1s battery. My main goal was to use this in sport cub s and hence I wanted to use the 1 battery to power both the plane and the TX. So I used the extra connector from the esc to power up the TX.

The video drops almost immediately after I give some throttle. I saw many people experiencing the same and they suggested using a voltage regulator ( like 3.3v pololu). So I ordered one and hooked it up but I still face the same problem even after using the regulator.

Any Idea what I may be doing wrong ?

Thanks,
RK

I know someone who had similar problems when trying fpv with this plane.
He ended up using a second 1S pack to power just the fpv camera and tx.

Jason.

Thanks Jason. I believe that is the only way. I am afraid the added weight might be too much for the small sport cub but let me see how it flies with 2 batteries.

that or use higher C rated and/or capacity packs, so that the throttle application doesnt cause such a large voltage drop. For a given amp draw, a higher C rating and/or a higher capacity will mean the voltage stays higher.

I just made a test with separate battery and it looks like the planes ESC or motors is interfering with the Video TX. The signal drops only when the tx is near the plane.

I just installed the wire antenna that came with the video TX. Will a circular polarized antenna or any other antenna resolve this problem ?

No.

Move the vtx away from the tx. I had to do this to 2 of my micro FPV planes to reduce interference after trying everything else.

I have images of where I re-locaed my 1.2 antenna in my ad:

Ah. Thanks Voxel. I tried moving the transmitter all the way to the back, actually under the fuselage and it kinda worked. I guess now I need to get longer cables and re-solder everything.
